Done and Done

Its almost midnight and the StartupBus competition is just about over. All teams have to have their pitch videos and final products ready for review. I am happy to say that I am pleased with what my team was able to do in a short time frame. 22 teams will be chosen to compete in the semi-finals tomorrow. I am not entirely sure how the process works, so we are just playing the waiting game. Here is a blog post at our StartupBus.com idea page.

Saying I'm tired is an understatement.

Soooo Close to Product Launch

2 hours of sleep. I'm so tired, I'm hallucinating. We are so close to beta launch of our product, just a few final tweaks, but it should be completely usable. While my partner Jesse has been working to finish off the product dev, I have switched gears to marketing, promoting, social media and trying to get some traction for this sucker. To say I have been taking advantage of some of my students would be an understatement. You too can help. All you need to do is meander on over to the RateMyClass Facebook page and give a like, and Twitter to follow us.

And once again, check out our idea page on the StartupBus - NEW updates there as well.

Next Stop, Texas

Another update from the bus... we are 6 hours from San Antonio, our final stop for today. We spent the night last night in Baton Rouge, LA. They showed us some real Southern Hospitality last night, the New Orleans bus is a fun group.

As far as our project goes - we are in the final stages of product development and we should be able to demo it by tonight. The big milestone we hit today was the completion of our pitch video. We scraped up some shots early this morning, collected some footage from my students, and I edited for the first few hours on the bus. Check out our idea page on the StartupBus website for updates, but the pitch video is below.

An update from the StartupBus

I've been on a bus for a day and a half. I'm on a team of 2 people developing a mobile web app. We have been branding, designing, coding and pitching. Things are moving fast and we hope to be up and running by tomorrow morning. Here is a link to our idea page on the StartupBus website. We'll be posting milestones and updates as the project progresses.

Outside of the project, we have made stops in Cincy, Nashville, and Memphis and were able to check out some really great tech accelerators and incubators.

72 Hours on a Bus?

In 5 days I hop on a bus that, in 72 hours, will travel from Washington DC to Austin, Texas. In those 72 hours I will be working with a small group of people on the bus to conceive, build, and launch a startup company. This bus is called the StartupBus. I'm excited to hop on the bus and roll outta DC. It's going to be a crazy adventure, with some interesting restrictions. It was a semi-rigorous process to get on the bus. I had three interviews with three separate bus conductors (past "buspreneurs" who are now in charge of a bus) and then given the task to create a game in less than 48 hours. I hacked and hustled my way on to the StartupBus. Check out the video below to see a preview of what I'll be in for. I'll be updating this post on the bus, but your best bet is to follow me on twitter.
